THE HAMPSHIRE Ladies County Golf Association are working with a number of golf clubs and facilities throughout Hampshire, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands to encourage more girls into taking up the sport by offering a six-week starter course.

The course is aimed at girls between six and 18 years old. The focus of the weekly sessions will be on having fun and and meeting other like-minded girls, while learning to play the game in a sociable environment.

Each course is held by a PGA qualified coach. After the initial six weeks, girls can continue to develop their golf skills at five further monthly sessions held at one of the County Academy Centres.

Entrants will be asked to pay a total fee of £20 which includes the six-week starter course and attendance at the five monthly sessions held through the year.

Courses begin on various dates from March 4. Places can be booked at www.getintogolf.org or contact one of the golf clubs and facilities who are taking part.
