COWDRAY Park Seniors held their annual end-of season competition for the Champions Trophy, competed for by players who had either won or finished runner-up in all competitions throughout the year.
It was expected to be a close contest, but it proved anything but as Mark Kelly blew the tournament apart with an exceptional net 64. The key to his success was his outstanding putting.
Club chairman Terry Adsett was runner-up on 68 and Ian Ward and Wally Mitchell returned 70s.
Leading scores: net 64 Mark Kelly; 68 Terry Adsett; 70 Wally Mitchell, Ian Ward; 71 David Wickham, John Hall; 72 Dave Balfour, John Newman, Brian Brockhurst, Frank Cheevers, Terry Jasper, Graham Thompson, Chris Hutchings.
John Hall, the current Eclectic leader, scored his first ever hole-in-one, after 50 years of trying, on the ninth hole, earning him a special-edition Boss watch.
