ALTON 2, HASLEMERE II 2

AFTER losing to the Hampshire 2 leaders last week, Alton Ladies struggled to a draw with local rivals Haslemere at Amery Hill.

The visitors stormed out of the blocks, pushing hard and spreading the ball around the pitch nicely.

Haslemere fully deserved their 2-0 lead at the interval, but Alton were greatly improved in the second half.

A short corner was skilfully dispatched by Martha Folkes with a drag-flick from the top of the D.

Haslemere were solid at the back and quick on the counter-attack, winning several short corners, all of which were effectively dealt with by the Alton defenders and stand-in keeper Jenny Rust.

On a rare Alton break, Maya Morrison chased a ball down in the circle and was ready for the rebound off the keeper to push the ball over the line for the late equaliser.
