Farnham Rugby Club’s women’s academy team (under-17s and under-18s) won their penultimate Surrey Waterfall Cup game against Old Reigatians 56-10.

Farnham’s first-half tries were scored by Rebecca Johnston with a pick and go from a ruck following a sharp line break by Emily Veats, Rosie Peet with a strong run following a line-break by Rebecca Johnston, and Holly Thompson – who broke directly from a scrum to crash over. In response, Old Reigatians’ particularly fast winger scored two tries.

At half-time the game was close, with Farnham leading 17-10. However, Farnham dominated the second half as Old Reigatians tired, scoring a further seven unanswered tries.

Iley Bailey’s two tries featured strong direct running, while Veats finished off slick passing moves from the backs to score two tries.

Rebecca Grogut collected a clever chip from fly-half and captain Tegan Larvan to score her try, while Peet scored her second when she dived from the base of a ruck. Lucy Harris thundered over from the opposition’s 22 after good approach play by the backs.
