THERE are no Farnham League snooker fixtures next Thursday (Nov 9) because many local players will be otherwise engaged, taking on six-time World Champion Steve Davis at the Farnham League’s annual awards night at Lindford Club.
It is the 20th anniversary of the league’s big event and the organisers have arranged a very special night in celebration, with Davis making his fourth visit to the venue. And this time he will be accompanied by fellow BBC commentator and former professional, John Virgo.
Most of the big snooker stars have visited Lindford over the years, including Ray Reardon (the first), Jimmy White, Dennis Taylor, John?Parrott, Ken Doherty, John Virgo and Mark Selby.
Davis will be playing exhibition one-frame matches against the league’s top break-makers, with Virgo providing his inimitable commentary.
There will be a draw to decide which one lucky ticket holder also gets the chance to take on Davis.
