Farnham TownTown have a tough run of games coming up, entertaining Frimley Green tomorrow and then taking on local rivals Badshot Lea the following week before a trip to promotion seekers Jersey.

They warmed up for those games with a 4-1 win at Banstead Athletic last Saturday - but manager Paul Johnson, although delighted with the result, felt his side started too slowly.

“We had to have a few words at half-time but we had a good second half and in the end it was convincing,” he said.

“We are slowly getting to where we need to be. We’re seventh in the table but I’m still a bit disappointed we’re not closer to the leading clubs, after some of the games we have thrown away.

“We are going in the right direction – we have settled on a  formation that suits the players we have.

“We have changed a lot of players – I think on Saturday there were only three or four of the original squad from when we arrived.

“We have brought in Lewis Flatman and he’s really hit the ground running – it’s been good to get him to the club earlier than expected and he’s definitely one for next season.”

There could be more upheavals in the summer too as word is getting about that Johnson is building something special at The Memorial Ground – and players want to be a part of it.

“We’ll see what happens – things are certainly happening off the pitch and we hope to get our new stand up and running for the visit of Badshot Lea,” said Johnson.

"We have a tough run of games coming up and seven points from those three games would be nice – we are always looking to win our home games.”
