Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted outside a pub in Aldershot in the early hours of last week.

The incident happened shortly after 2am on Sunday, December 28, at The Queen Victoria on Victoria Road.

It is reported that a man in his 30s was punched by another unknown man, causing him to fall to the ground.

The victim suffered a cut to his head and a broken leg as a result of the fall.

A 22-year-old man from Aldershot was arrested on suspicion of wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent. He has since been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.

Police believe there may have been other witnesses to the assault, as well as to events leading up to it, and are urging anyone who saw or heard anything to come forward.
