After five successful years trading at 24 High Street, Alton’s Resurrection Furniture has moved across the road to bigger premises.

The opening ceremony held in the new shop on Thursday, July 28 was attended by town mayor, Councillor Ginny Boxall, Rev Gordon Randall, trustees of Resurrection Furniture and a number of the volunteers who work in the shop and on the van.

Before ceremonies began Rev Gordon Randall gave a blessing to the shop and everyone involved. A message from the Rev Andrew Micklefield, vicar of the parish, expressed his support and thanks for the work of the whole team.

And before the official opening and cutting of the ribbon by the mayor, a brilliant trumpet fanfare was performed by Tony Willman, musical director of St Lawrence Church.
