Sixty members of Alton Cycling Club raised £773.31 for brain tumour charity Brainstrust when they rode 100km on a circular route from Beech Village Hall.

The Jim Woods Memorial Ride on July 10 – Colin Halstead’s picture captured the start – was held in honour of Jim Woods, who joined the club in 2010 but was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour in September 2018 and died in April 2020.

Club member Becci May said: “Always good company on and off the bike, Jim loved cycle touring, Sunday club rides and all things social. His gentle humour and keen intellect live on in our memories.”
