Firefighters from Alton tackled a blaze at Charters Close in Four Marks on July 13.

They were called shortly before 10.30pm following reports of a fire involving a garden shed and fence.

A spokesperson for the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The blaze had begun to spread to the eaves of a nearby residential property but crews acted swiftly to contain it and prevent further damage.

“Hose reels were used to extinguish the fire and ventilation fans were deployed to clear smoke from the property. The incident was brought under control and crews left the scene by 11.30pm.”

Witnesses said “lots of fire engines” were in attendance, and that the damage included some “melted gutters and soffits”.
