SOLDIERS from the Bordon-based Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers made a final appearance, to spontaneous applause at Alton's Remembrance Day parade on Sunday.

Accompanied by the drums and bugles of the 2nd Alton Boys Brigade Band, they joined Royal British Legion veterans, members of the emergency services, and hundreds of members of the town's uniformed youth groups, as they marched through the town for the last time before moving to their new base at RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire at the end of 2015.
