TOWN councillors has vowed to get "the best deal for Alton" in negotiations over the relocation of sports facilities from the Molson Coors sports ground in Anstey Road.

Councillors resolved at a full council meeting, held at the Finnimore Pavilion on Tuesday evening, to meet 'face to face' with Molson Coors representatives, to discuss the relocation proposals for Alton Town Football Club and Alton Social Bowls Club, and not to rely on written correspondence.

Both clubs had been given notice by Molson Coors to quit the ground by the end of the year to enable redevelopment of the site.
