A BOOK of childhood recollections by Liphook man Derek Holdsworth has raised £700 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
When Derek was diagnosed with the illness he wrote his story about growing up in the village for his family.
He died aged 71 in July 2009 but his sister Irene Ellis, with help from Adrian Bird, Ian Baker and Liphook Heritage Centre, created School Day Memories, published in 2020.
Derek, born in Haslemere Herald on August 14, 1937, lived in Liphook all his life. He was a firefighter in Haslemere and Guildford, then a painter and decorator.
