Straw hats, sunglasses and summer frocks were the order of the day at Home-Start’s 35th annual car boot sale in Bramdean on August 14.

The event was held at Bramble Farm courtesy of Alastair and Sally Stewart and raised £1,500 in a few hours.

Home-Start organiser Chrissie Barlow said: “We are so grateful to Hellards estate agents, which sponsored the event, and to the Stewart family for hosting us again. It is such a great venue, with separate parking and literally acres of fields.”

A welcome arrival was Sam Morris of Sammy’s Cakes and Grill, who stepped into the breach when the charity’s caterer had to pull out and kept everyone fed and watered with endless cold drinks and bacon butties.
