ALTON Assembly Rooms has hosted a pop-up café to raise funds for Dementia UK.
It was run by Alton event management company RLC, which got behind this year’s ‘Time for a Cuppa’ nationwide fundraising initiative at the beginning of the month.
More than 40 friends, family and passers-by joined them for elevenses, collectively donating £315 for Dementia UK – the charity that provides support for families affected by dementia.
RLC managing director Rachel Ley said: “We had a great spread of cakes and biscuits baked by our friends and volunteers from Roedowns Women’s Institute. We’re also hugely grateful for cash donations made by local retailers Aldi and the Co-op, also to Alton-based patisserie Cakey Weller, whose fabulous cupcakes were offered as quiz prizes.”
