Alton Morris is inviting potential Morris dancers to a taster session at Alton Infant School in Victoria Road on October 3 at 8pm.
All men and women interested in dancing or playing music are welcome. The side spend autumn and winter Friday evenings practising in the school ready to dance outside from April onwards.
A spokesperson said: “It is a sociable and friendly activity, and a fantastic way of getting fit. Last year’s new recruits cannot wait to start practising again as they had so much fun this year.
“They attended local events such as Regency Day and the Alton spring fair, danced in Market Square a few times and danced with other Morris sides at local pubs.
“They also performed at folk festivals in Sidmouth and Swanage, where they were welcomed and appreciated by enthusiastic crowds.”
Last month Alton Morris danced at Laverstoke Park Farm during CarFest, which is moving to Silverstone next year.
The next Alton Morris performances will be during the Blackmoor apple tasting day on October 12 at 12.30pm and 1.30pm. Members of the public will be welcome to join in.
