THE FIRST Friends children’s nursery in Alton has planted cherry and apple trees to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

It is in response to The Queen’s Canopy project which invited everyone to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’.

First Friends’ forest school leader Holly Taylor involved the pre-school children in planting the trees.

In learning all about the Queen and her 70-year reign they have helped create a living legacy in her honour. They have also learnt all about trees, including how to identify some species, how to respect them and what they need to nourish them.
