SMALL bouquets will be appearing in Alton and Four Marks tomorrow, left as gifts by Alton Flower Club, and with them a card wishing the finder well and giving details of how to become a club member.
The small flower arrangements are part of a national celebration on the same day when a giant floral NAFAS sign made from “lonely bouquets” is to be launched at The Bargate in Southampton.
It will be the third year Alton Flower Club members have run their own “lonely bouquets” scheme.
Chairman Margaret Betsworth said: “We fund the bouquets ourselves and we place them around Alton and Four Marks and invite the finders to take them home.
“I will be placing two bouquets outside Waitrose, as we like to choose central places, but I don’t know where the other members will be putting their flowers.”
These acts of kindness are to spread a little happiness and Mrs Betsworth added: “We have had some of our cards returned from finders saying how the small bouquets have cheered them up, and we were very pleased, but so far no new members have come from the cards we leave.”
