CRUSE Bereavement Care is offering a new bereavement support foundation course.

A national charity with a branch in North Hampshire that covers the towns of Alton, Basingstoke, Andover and Fleet, the organisation provides one-to-one and group

support to people experiencing the pain of bereavement.

As a registered charity, Cruse offers its services free of charge to all people regardless of age, race, religion or gender.

In order to meet the ever-increasing demand for its services, however, and in the hope of extending these services to a wider area, Cruse Bereavement North Hampshire is looking for new volunteers so has organised the Bereavement Support Foundation Course to take place in Basingstoke starting September 10.

The course is open to anyone who thinks they may have the necessary listening skills and compassion to help those who have been bereaved and might wish to become a fully-trained volunteer bereavement support worker.

The course will be run over seven weekly sessions at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Basingstoke, held on Saturdays between September 10 and December 3.

The cost is £300 and applicants are required to undertake an interview prior to being accepted on the course.
