THE Alresford Agricultural Show takes place on Saturday and promises a wealth of traditional rural activities, displays and demonstrations in the bucolic surroundings of Tichborne Park.

Arena events will include parades of livestock and modern and vintage farm machinery, an Iberian horse display, scurry racing, a parade of hounds, demonstrations of shoes, the Quack Pack, and a tug of war.

There will be the usual judging of livestock, including cattle, sheep, goats, donkeys, pigs and alpacas; poultry, a ducks and egg show, birds of prey, and a bee-keeping and honey show.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy more than 150 trade stands, 70 craft stands, a produce marquee and a horticultural show, with displays of flowers, vegetables, photography and craftwork.

The rural extravaganza will also feature a companion dog show and a wealth of fun and games.
