A cyclist was left stranded on a rural lane with a serious leg injury following a hit-and-run north of Alton.

Hampshire Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a motorist failed to stop following an accident this morning (Friday, June 13) close to Herriard and Lasham airfield.

The victim, a female cyclist in her 40s, was struck by a vehicle around 11.20am on Bagmore Lane between the Berrydown Lane and Bell Lane junctions.

Police are keen to track down and speak to the driver of a small grey car seen in the area at the time as they may have valuable information about the incident.
