ANIMAL lovers are boiling with rage over the callous treatment of yet more coloured horses in a field on the New Odiham Road, in Alton.

The body of a young stallion was removed from the field. It had been left to rot in a muddy gateway for at least five days, in full sight of passing traffic, its swollen body infested with maggots.

Horse lovers have been urging the RSPCA, police, and Trading Standards to remove the animal but, they say, it has taken almost a week and a lot of cajoling to get a result.
