Pupils and staff came together at Anstey Junior School to make a crown silhouette on the school’s field as part of celebrations for the coronation of King Charles III.

Other events that took place at the school for the coronation included learning coronation songs in a singing assembly and a coronation artwork display.

All pupils took part in a coronation big draw hosted by ‘Draw with Rob’. All pupils were taught to draw a crown.

The school has created and sent a whole school card to congratulate King Charles III.

The school also held a non-uniform day – all pupils wore red, white or blue clothing to school and a home-made crown. Ambassadors hosted a coronation coffee morning for members of the community. There was a whole-school big lunch and a coronation crown parade for parents to watch.

All pupils have been presented with a coronation bookmark gift from the PTA.

The school also registered volunteer opportunities for the community. These include listening to pupils read, becoming a governor and helping with gardening.
