In the spirit of giving, Farnham Library has launched a ‘Coats for All’ initiative, offering free coats in various sizes for adults and children.

Anyone can help themselves to the rail without asking during the library’s opening hours, with no library membership required.

As a Warm Welcome venue, the library also provides complimentary drinks.

The library ran two successful coat donation days earlier in the month after seeing how other libraries and Farnham Maltings had run similar initiatives.

Library assistant Beth-Anna Varley-Ward said: “The local community generously donated almost 150 coats, which we’re very grateful for.”

The library also offers free period products year-round, and anyone can donate or help themselves to these products across Surrey libraries.

Farnham Library is open:

  • Monday to Friday: 9.30am to 5.30pm
  • Tuesday: 9.30am to 7pm
  • Saturday: 9.30am to 5pm

The library will also open between Christmas and New Year on December 28, 29 and 30 and then from January 2 as usual.
