HAMPSHIRE Farmers’ Markets will be in festive mood for its last market of the season in Alton next Saturday.
Running alongside the Alton Lions Christmas craft market on December 10, the farmers’ market will be in full festive flow from 10am-2pm in the High Street, bringing seasonal favourites such as turkeys, Christmas trees, cheeses, pies, quiches, fudge, game, poultry, beer, gin, pickles, as well as fresh and smoked fish. It will also offer fruit and veg, brandy butter, eggs, and artisan bread.
There will also be some interesting food gift options, as well as other local produce such as Sinah Common Honey, produced from bee colonies on Hayling Island; English Rose Finest Dry Gin produce by Silent Pool; Nordmann fir trees from the Meon Valley; beers and glasses from Mash Brewery; oils and soaps from Lavender Fields at Selborne, and fudge from Fordingbridge.
In the meantime, Alton Lions will be hosting a Christmas craft market on Cross and Pillory Lane and the Market Square, with a bumper number of stalls offering a wide range of handmade crafts ranging from aprons and children’s clothes and jewellery to ceramics, turned wood, cards, candles and gifts.
The market will be open from 10am to 3pm.
