CONCERN is growing over Government proposals to sell off 15 per cent of all land owned by the Forestry Commission over the next four years, in the hope of raising £100m.
While it has been confirmed by the Forestry Commission that Alice Holt Forest is not in the current programme, Chawton Park Wood in Medstead is the subject of a planning application for development of a car park area in Boyneswood Road, generating fear for the future of Alton's forested areas and possible loss of public access.
