ALTON Town Council has agreed to lift the prohibition order on the Public Gardens to enable event organisers to run a bar.
Traditionally, the council has declined requests to serve alcoholic at events in the town centre Gardens on grounds that it may encourage bad behaviour and be seen to condone underage drinking.
