GIN fans snapped up 250 tickets for the Watercress Line’s second Gin Train last week, with the event selling out in two minutes!

Following the popularity of the May Gin Train, which sold out in 10 minutes, the Mid-Hants Railway (MHR) Watercress Line decided to host another event in June, which has proven even more popular.

Sponsored by Fever-Tree and in partnership with Winchester Distillery and Pulpo Negro, the Watercress Line is hosting Hampshire’ first gin train experience on Saturday, May 5, followed by a second event on Saturday, June 29.

Gin lovers will be able enjoy cocktails created with the Distillery’s famous Twisted Nose Gin, appropriately made with locally grown watercress. Guests can also enjoy an array of authentic Spanish tapas followed by a main course from Hampshire’s Pulpo Negro, all experienced onboard a nostalgic steam train.

Woodies Mountford, marketing manager at the MHR Watercress Line, said: “The end of 2016 saw a new gin culture emerge, with the popularity of the drink rapidly rising and becoming the latest trend.

“Millennials absolutely love the drink, and as a gin lover myself, we’re really excited we are hosting The Gin Train here at the Watercress Line.”
