Spooky but safe fun for children will return when Vicky’s Hallowe’en Garden opens its gates at Victoria Road in Alton on October 31 from 5.30pm to 8pm.

Vicky’s Hallowe’en Garden is a family-run and free event that has been going for more than 15 years.

Spokesperson Megan Metcalfe said: “We are dedicated to creating a family-friendly, safe space for children to go trick or treating without the fear of unexpected jump scares or overly frightening themes, instead embracing a spooky but fun atmosphere.

“We have had quite a following over the years, consistently seeing lots of familiar faces and also new visitors who all seem to enjoy the experience, which has grown from a small front garden display to a much larger walk-through, full of decorations, props, music, effects and of course plenty of treats, including both sweets and non-edible alternatives and extras.

“We do our best to be fully inclusive, allowing visitors level access options to get to the treat table and talking with visitors who may need a little extra help to enjoy the display.

“All of our family members who dress up and engage with the trick or treaters are Disclosure and Barring Service checked and work within local schools, charities and sports clubs.

“We all do this for the love of Hallowe’en and the joy it brings us to see families being able to enjoy our efforts. We feel that everyone deserves the chance to dress up, have fun and get some treats during October.”

In recent years Vicky’s Hallowe’en Garden has raised money for charity via donation buckets. The good cause for 2025 is the Vokes Over-60s Lunch Club in Alton.

Megan added: “This charity does incredible work and is important to so many people locally. We hope to raise lots of money for them.”
