ST Michael’s Hospice in Basingstoke has announced the opening of a charity shop in Four Marks.
Expected to open during the week beginning Monday, September 24, the charity’s 10th retail store will be located in the Oak Green shopping parade on the A31 Winchester Road and will be open six days a week.
Ann Schuster, head of retail at St Michael’s Hospice, said: “This will be a fantastic addition to our nine existing retail stores located across North Hampshire and will offer a great range of quality clothing and accessories for all the family as well as a selection of well-priced books, DVDs, toys, games, and household items.
“Many residents will be familiar with our popular shop on Alton High Street which continues to go from strength to strength due to great support from the local community.
“Recognising this success, we feel there is strong demand for a further St Michael’s Hospice shop in the area which is sure to become an integral part of Four Marks village life.
“We look forward to updating residents on the store opening and our launch event as the installation progresses.”
Ian Cameron, acting chief executive at St Michael’s Hospice, said of the new store opening: “We are extremely proud of our award-winning retail stores, with all profits going directly to St Michael’s Hospice, helping to ensure the continued running of our essential services.
“The hospice provides the highest quality and standard of specialist palliative care for patients in North Hampshire, including the areas of Four Marks and Alton.
“The services offered include inpatient care at the hospice, community palliative care from our expert nursing team as well as a growing range of outpatient services such as complementary therapies.”
And he added: “With the wide area covered by our services, it is essential that we raise the funds needed to reach more patients than ever before.
“All St Michael’s Hospice services are available to our patients and their families free of charge which would not be possible without the support of our local community.”
