AN?Alton care home is hosting a free event supporting people who are looking at moving into a care home this month.
The event, being run by legal firm Warner Goodman, which has three offices in the south of the county, is being hosted by Brendoncare Alton on Saturday, September 23.
Jane Cox, a private client partner for Warner Goodman, will talk on topics such as lasting power of attorney, life interest trust wills, and other wills.
Speaking of the event at the care home on Adams Way, Ms Cox said: “Warner Goodman has been working with Brendoncare in a variety of ways for the last few years, and we’re pleased to be given this opportunity to educate the residents, families and members of the public as to the requirements for the big step of moving into a care home.
“There are lots of elements to consider, and if we can help by answering questions to ease the change then we are delighted to be able to do so.”
Part of registered charity The Brendoncare Foundation, the care home has been providing nursing and dementia care in Alton for more than 20 years.
The Care Quality Commission rated the home ‘good’ in an inspection earlier this year and it has also recently celebrated its accreditation as a provider of the Six Steps programme for high quality, end-of-life care.
Tina Manterfield, general manager of Brendoncare Alton, said: “We are delighted to be holding this event in conjunction with Warner Goodman.
“Moving into a care home is a big change for people and providing information about financial implications as well as legal safeguards is really important.”
The talk runs from 10am-11.30am.
