Tom Hamblet, the 2023 MasterChef: The Professionals winner, will be demonstrating his skils at the Alresford Watercress Festival on May 19.

Guest judge Grace Dent described his chocolate mousse as the best she'd ever tasted, Gregg Wallace said Tom had “come of age” in the contest, and Marcus Wareing likened his final olive oil sponge dessert to “a great piece of music” that he wanted to play on repeat.

In April Tom takes up a residency post at Lainston House near Winchester.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to the festival – I’ve heard a lot about it – and to getting to know this part of Hampshire.

“I think I’m still in the process of discovering my food style as I’m still fairly new to the industry. I love the classics and I also love experimenting with different flavours and trying new things - but it has to be executed perfectly.”
