POLICE are appealing for information after a teenager was assaulted in Alton. The incident occurred at around 6.50pm on Friday, July 11, when the 17-year-old victim was walking towards the Seafare chip shop in Normandy Street. She was holding some cash in her hand. She passed a group of three men, one of whom grabbed her arm, causing multiple scratches along her upper arm. The man then made a lewd comment before pushing her away. The three men started to laugh before walking off. The man police want to speak to is described as being of Turkish appearance with olive skin, around 5ft 10ins tall and of muscular build with broad shoulders and large hands Aged in his mid-20s, the man is said to have had gelled/spiked-up hair, was clean shaven and wearing a dark coloured polo shirt. He spoke with a foreign accent. The other two men were of similar appearance and were wearing casual clothing. For full story, see this week's Alton Herald.
