ANYONE turning up at Old Thorns Golf and Hotel Resort at Liphook one glitzy night last month could have been forgiven for thinking that they had been whisked off to a Hollywood movie premiere with the red carpet, flashing photography and prestige cars. All of this was overshadowed by the arrival of year 11 Eggar's students in sparkling, bejewelled, exquisite dresses and sharp suits and suave dinner jackets. Pupils and staff of Eggar's School were treated to a luxurious three-course meal followed by a reward ceremony and a whole year group dance of the Macarena. The head of year 11, Nathan Smith-Rogers, said: "I am so proud of the whole year group. Their determination and hard work over the last five years has been remarkable and everyone should be proud of what they have achieved. "The event was a huge success and the perfect way to celebrate the end of their secondary education."
