THE Alton Round Table Christmas float will start its rounds on Monday, December 4, spreading festive cheer throughout the town.
A traditional part of Alton’s Christmas calendar, Father Christmas will visit as many households as possible, carried aboard a sleigh of sparkling lights and bringing with him a riot of seasonal music.
He will be accompanied by Round Tabler members collecting for charity.
The festive route around town will be:
Monday (December 4): Church Street (6.30pm), Spitalfields Road, Victoria Road, Orchard Lane area.
Wednesday (December 6): The Ridgeway (6.30pm).
Thursday (December 7): Borovere Lane (6.30pm), Calendar Close, Archery Rise, Vicarage Road, Tower Street, Old Acre Road, Mt Pleasant Road, New Barn Lane and Stillions Close.
Friday (December 8): Spitalhatch (6.30pm), continuing on to Ashdell Road, Crowley Drive, Huntsmead, Curtis Road, Spicers and Vaughans.
Saturday (December 9): Garstons Way (4.45pm) and Holybourne.
Sunday (December 10): Lincoln Green (5pm), Chawton Park Road, Treloar Heights, Beechwood Road area.
Monday (December 11): Whitedown Lane (6.30pm), Bolle Road, Downsway, Cavalier Way, Butts Road, Albert Road, Helen’s Close, Whitedown estate, and Borovere Gardens.
Tuesday (December 12): Princess Drive (6.30pm), and Highridge area, Whitedown Lane, Kings Road, Queens Road, Ackender Road,Westbrooke Road to Lenten Street.
Wednesday (December 13): Southview Rise area of Greenfields estate, starting Aldersey Fields (6.30pm), including Cherry Way and ending up in Lime Avenue.
Thursday (December 14): Greenfields Avenue (6.30pm) and all closes off, starting at Vyne Close and ending at Brandon Close.
Friday (December 15): Linnets Way (6.30pm), Poundgate, Lipscombe Rise, Edward Road, Alexander Road, Nursery Road, Eastbrooke Road, Park Close, Lansdowne Road, Chalcrafts, Adams Way and Shipley Close.
Saturday (December 16): Wooteys estate and Gilbert White Way and all roads off, starting at Raven Square (5pm)
Sunday (December 17): Anstey Lane (5pm), Manor estate, Geales Crescent, Allen Close, Spenser Close.
