Taking place at the church on Butts Road, the concert starts at 7.30pm with a repertoire including military marches, big band sounds, and jazz. Also included in the evening will be some stunning solo pieces.
Event organiser and church warden Derek Shutler said: “People who have attended since its inauguration in 2001 have thoroughly enjoyed the Royal Marines’ unique sound, and if you have not been before you are in for a real treat!
“It means a lot to the Royal Marines School of Music to be able to hold this memorial concert dedicated to the late Bob Simmonds, who was one of the bandsmen who lost his life in the terrorist bombing at their home barracks in Deal, Kent, in September 1989.”
Tickets, priced £12, are available from the Newbury Building Society on Alton High Street.
