STUDENTS at Alton College studying health and social care and children’s play, learning and development joined staff for a Countryfile Ramble, raising money for BBC Children in Need along the way.
The Alton College team completed a six-and-a-half mile route around Holybourne and Upper Froyle, while three learners from Treloar’s College followed a short wheelchair accessible course in Alton.
They have so far raised £770 and the money raised for Children in Need supports more than 2,500 projects. Last year, they helped change the lives of 490,000 disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
Alton College Students’ Union also led a fundraising effort involving teams of staff from across the college taking part in a duck and spoon obstacle race, including many staff members donning fancy dress outfits, all in aid of the good cause.
The final total is still to be confirmed.
