ALTON’S Sandtastic craft session had to move from the Public Gardens to Alton Assembly Rooms to escape the rain.

However, the weather couldn’t spoil the fun and the town council’s community and cvents officer, Emily Messenger, said: “It was amazing and we had a lot of children who had fun making pictures with different coloured sand.”

The activity programme continues throughout this month, with Professor Potty, on August 11, Kids Zumba, on August 18, and Scotty’s Circus Workshop, on August 25. Sessions take place from 2pm-3pm in the Public Gardens, or in the Assembly Rooms if it is raining. Entry is free but bring rugs and chairs.
