SELBORNE Primary School will host the seventh annual FOSStival on Sunday.
The stage is set for the family-friendly music festival in the grounds of the school.
The festival attracted more than 600 visitors last year.
Also in the line-up are alumni of Guildford’s ACM music academy and Alton College, as well as pupils from the hostchool.
FOSStival aims to offer young performers and visitors an inspiring entry into the world of festivals, with live music, entertainment and great food, all in a safe, family-friendly environment.
It also raises money for the school, which is used to provide music lessons, instruments and performance opportunities to students, regardless of means or background.
Matt Turner, one of FOSStival’s organisers, said: “Music isn’t just a school subject, it can be a life-long passion that pays back again and again over an individual’s life, whether that be through performance or appreciation.
“We’re delighted that FOSStival continues to inspire children, both through the fun of the event itself and the education opportunities it funds at Selborne Primary.”
Matt’s 10-year-old daughter Niamh is one of the pupils to benefit from music lessons at school.
She said: “Music is my favourite subject. At the moment I am learning the flute and saxophone and we are really looking forward to playing songs at FOSStival and seeing lots of other singers and bands play their songs.”
Lily Maltby, 11, added: “I sang in the choir at last year’s FOSStival. I was really nervous but it was amazing fun and I can’t wait to do it again.”
Tickets for FOSStival are available from The Selborne Arms, Selborne Primary School and Selborne Village Stores, or online at visitfosstival.co.uk.
