Alexandra Peel, a 23-year-old violinist who grew up in Steep, will be playing Mozart’s fourth violin concerto with the Havant Chamber Orchestra at Holy Trinity Church in Fareham on Saturday at 7.30pm.

The concert features exciting and joyful music by Mozart, Schubert and Mendelssohn influenced by their experiences of Italy.

As a child Mozart toured Italy three times, mainly based in Milan but going as far south as Naples. Schubert wrote his Overture in the Italian style in homage to the opera composer Rossini, while Mendelssohn said in a letter home that his fourth symphony was “the jolliest piece I have ever done”.
