THIS year's Alton Herald Christmas card competition was won by six-year-old Jamila Downes, from Holybourne.

Featuring a festive pudding, Jamila's design was reproduced on a special Christmas card for Alton mayor Robert Saunders.

The creative young designer received her prize from the mayor during the town's Yuletide Festival in December.

The Herald is grateful to to all of the children who entered their pictures into the competition and would like to say a big "well done" to all of them.
