THE economic crisis wreaked more havoc in Alton on Friday triggering a clash between those charged with maintaining the vibrancy of the town and retailers focused on keeping their heads above water.
A difference of opinion generated heated debate over an Alton Initiatives Management (AIM) Ltd proposal, backed by Alton Town Council, to introduce a regular Saturday market in the High Street.
