For the second week in succession the cricket pavilion at Penns Place has been broken into and vandalised.

Club spokesman David Squires said: “The police have been involved, fingerprints and DNA have been taken as the perpetrators hurt themselves breaking the glass to get in.

“The pavilion has been secured again by the club volunteers with help from local business JB Corrie, and the extensive damage to the inside of it will be repaired.

“But whoever is doing this is determined to use it as somewhere to vandalise, hang out and drink beer.”

“If anyone sees anything suspicious please contact the police on 101 and quote crime ref number 44230037561.”
