Am-dram fans are in for a treat when the Winton Players perform Charley’s Aunt at the Petersfield Festival Hall this month.

The production has been adapted by Paul Thain from Brandon Thomas’ original script.

This new version of the very popular Victorian farce retains all the fun of the original but re-works it for a modern audience.

Set in an Oxford college in 1892, the imminent arrival of Charley’s aunt provides him and his friend Jack with a perfect chaperone for the two young ladies they’ve invited to lunch.

However, the aunt’s visit is delayed and rather than cancel the lunch party, the two students come up with the idea of an impersonation – but who could do it?

The show times are:

Thursday, April 20: 7.30pm.

Friday, April 21: 7.30pm.

Saturday, April 22: 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets are £14 for adults and £9 for under-18s.

They are available from www.WintonPlayers.co.uk or in person at One Tree Books in Lavant Street (01730 261199) or The Town Visitor Centre in the Festival Hall (01730 264182).
