WRESTLING returned to Alton with a sell-out bout at the Assembly Rooms between British heavyweight champion Alan Lee Travis and the “dark, mysterious” Canadian grappler known as The Falcon.
The crowd cheered, booed, whistled and applauded as the two men gave them a match to remember, with Farnham-based wrestler Travis being declared the winner.
There were three supporting bouts and the compere was LDN Wrestling promoter Sanjay Bagga.
He said there were people of all ages at the event and it was nice to see people coming out to enjoy something “a bit different” in Alton.
“It is the first time LDN has been to the town and 30 years since wrestling was held in Alton when Big Daddy was the star,” he said. “The whole evening had a friendly atmosphere and I’m so pleased that I’m coming back next year.”
