TWO Farnborough Tennis Club teams clashed in the Aldershot League Division One last week and Tennis C surprised their A side by beating them 7-3.

Graham Diplock was undefeated for the C team and team-mate Colin Baggott and Rob Gladstone (A team) won two apiece.

Despite only having two players, Bentley A beat Ash B 7-3. Andy Mudie and Micky Lang won all the points for Bentley.

Frimley A picked up their first win of the season, beating two-man Cody A 8-2. Paul Rumble and Tim Ngyou were both unbeaten for Frimley.

Bentley B maintained their unbeaten record in Division Two with a 9-1 victory over Frimley B. Robin Street and Paul Farrant both picked up maximums, while Eric North won twice for the losers.

In another club derby, Tennis D and Tennis E shared the spoils, with Dave Hewitt notching a treble for the Ds. Dave Jarvis supported with a double which was matched by George Carder for the E team.

Old Woking secured their first win of the season – an 8-2 success against two-man Fleet A. Steve Cheek was unbeaten for Old Woking and Dave Joyce won twice for Fleet.

Frimley D trounced Ash D 9-1 for their first win of the campaign in Division Three. Gary Nicholson and Anthony Connelly recorded maximums and Barry Baxter chipped in with a double.

Ken Thompson was undefeated for Crawley Ridge A in the draw against Ash E. Colleague Peter Greenwood-Sleep won twice, as did Ash’s Amy Parkes.

The Cody D and C teams split the points and the D side’s Bob Fenner was the star player with a maximum. John Harvey and David Thomas each won two for the Cs.

Tennis F remain leaders after a 9-1 thrashing of their G team. Peter Killick and Darren Brown were both unbeaten and Bob Brown lost only to the G team’s Martin Evans.

The only team with a 100 per cent record in Division Four is Cody E after they scraped past Fleet B 6-4. Rob Brook was Fleet’s hero with a maximum, while Kim Phillips and Alan Richards won two each for Cody.

Crawley Ridge B beat Ash G 7-3 to stay top of the table. Richard Pape and Peter Greenwood-Sleep both claimed trebles for the winners.

Gabriel Ailioae was unbeaten for Broadmoor C who drew with Tennis H. John Page won two in reply.

Ash H squeezed past their J team 6-4, with no player unbeaten. Doubles for H players Darren Milstead and Ben Carr were matched by John Hutchinson and Paul Gilbey for the Js.

Steve Bridle was unbeaten as Frimley E beat a two-man Ash K 8-2.
