TONY Castley, who served for many years as press officer for Cowdray Park Golf Club Seniors, died on Saturday, June 17 after a long illness, bravely borne.
Tony was proud to fill the role and enjoyed the work, despite often having to chase match managers for information. He was one of the most reliable correspondents for the Herald and other newspapers. His reports on inter-club matches and the regular monthly competitions were always colourful and detailed.
Tony also liked a flutter on the horses and it is pleasing to report that he won money on eight out of ten horses the weekend before he died. He will be much missed at Cowdray Golf Club.
