THIS team of Alton RFC juniors were one of a group of 14 clubs and schools welcomed to Twickenham by Quilter, a principal partner of England Rugby, for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play on the hallowed turf.
They were the Quilter Kids First Champions, a grassroots award that recognises clubs and schools who have excelled in creating a rugby environment for players from the age groups U7 to U13.
Over 200 young players were joined by former England internationals Jason Robinson, Danielle Waterman, David Flatman and Ugo Monye, who were lending their support to the coaches.
Each youngster had the opportunity to be taken on the journey of an England player for the day – from boarding the team bus to running out onto the pitch and singing the national anthem.
