MORE?than 300 folk crowded into Alton Public Gardens for the last of Alton Town Council’s school holiday programme of events, to participate in Scotty’s circus workshop.

The children, accompanied by parents and carers, had the chance to learn the tricks of the circus, such as plate spinning, diabolo, juggling and balancing on tri-cycles on one of the hottest days of the summer.

The workshop was the fifth in a series of events the town council has run throughout the summer holidays, and sand art, Professor Potty, Magic Wanda and zumba had all been an equal success – even if two of them had to be moved from the Gardens to the Assembly Rooms because of rain!

Emily Messenger, Alton Town Council’s community and events officer, said the council was pleased at how well all the events had gone and was grateful to everyone who had come along and supported them.

More events are being planned for next year.
