The next meeting of the Kings Pond community and stakeholder focus group will be held at the Alton Assembly Rooms on September 2 at 6pm.

Cllr Don Hammond, who led the first meeting of the group at Alton Town Hall on July 2, said the next one would be open to the public.

He added that outside bodies would be invited to meetings of the Kings Pond task and finish group as the project progressed from its initial stages.

Cllr Hammond said: “We hope, as we approach meaningful discussion, we might get representatives of the Environment Agency and planners to the task and finish group.

“They seem to be waiting for us to get a bit further down the line.”
